Portuguese Pointer Club of America
About the PPCA...
Club History
On June 10, 2005, the Portuguese Pointer Club of America completed
the American Kennel Club's requirements for the inclusion of the
Portuguese pointer in the AKC's Foundation Stock Service  (FSS)
Program.  The following month on August 4, 2005, the PPCA was
approved by the United Kennel Club as a Single Breed (Portuguese
pointer) club.  Later that year, on November 12, 2005, the PPCA held its
first UKC event, a TAN (test of natural ability) for pointing breeds.  The
PPCA was recently approved to hold UKC conformation events.  These
activities represent the beginning of our goal to do everything possible
to protect and advance the best interests of the Portuguese pointer.
Interested in Becoming a Member?
We invite you to consider joining  the PPCA.  Membership is
open to everyone (in good standing with the UKC, AKC and/or
FCI).  The PPCA currently has members throughout the US
and several other countries.  Members are enjoying the
camaraderie and networking that the Club offers, such as
meeting more Portuguese pointer owners in their areas,
swapping PP tales and finding answers to training and health
questions.  Members subscribe to a
Code of Ethics for the
benefit of the breed. For more information,
contact us or
download a
membership application.
